Breeders' Cup Wagering Details for Del Mar Championship

The Breeders' Cup recently finalized its comprehensive wagering structure for the races taking place at Del Mar on October 31 and November 1. Horse racing fans can look forward to a rich selection of betting opportunities, including 10 Pick 4s, six Pick 5s, two Pick 6s, and four unique daily doubles, all designed to enhance the excitement of the championship event.

On Friday, October 31, the racing action kicks off with a 10-race card, beginning at 2:35 p.m. EDT. The day's highlights include five preliminary races leading up to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, which is race 6 with a post time of 5:45 p.m. The day will conclude with the Juvenile Turf, race 10, scheduled for 8:25 p.m.

Saturday, November 1, features a 12-race program, commencing at 1:05 p.m. EDT. Three undercard races will precede the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, race 4, marking the start of the championship races at 3 p.m.

The multi-race wagering options are particularly noteworthy. On Friday, there will be a $3 all-turf Pick 3, encompassing the Juvenile Turf, Juvenile Fillies Turf, and Juvenile Turf, corresponding to races 6, 8, and 10. Saturday's program offers a 50-cent minimum all-turf Pick 4, combining four elite turf races: the Turf Sprint, Turf, Mile, and Filly & Mare Turf (races 5, 8, 10, and 12). Additionally, a 50-cent minimum all-dirt Pick 4 on Saturday will feature the Filly & Mare Sprint, Sprint, Distaff, and Classic (races 4, 6, 7, and 9).

Saturday will also host three distinct Pick 5s: an early Pick 5 covering races 1-5, a middle Pick 5 for races 5-9, and a late Pick 5 for races 8-12. Four special daily doubles are scheduled across both days, linking key races such as Friday’s Juvenile (race 9) with Saturday’s Turf (race 9), and Friday’s Juvenile Fillies (race 7) with Saturday’s Distaff (race 7).

Carryover rules are in place for Friday’s Pick 6, Pick 5s, and Super High 5, all of which may roll over to Saturday. Any Pick 5 carryover from Friday or the early Saturday Pick 5 will be transferred to the late Saturday Pick 5. The middle Pick 5 on Saturday and the Saturday’s Pick 6, late Pick 5, and final Super High 5 are guaranteed for mandatory payouts on Breeders’ Cup Saturday.

Betting minimums include $3 for the All-turf Pick 3, $2 for Win, Place, and Show bets. $1 minimums apply to exacta, daily double, special daily doubles, and Pick 6. Trifecta, Pick 3, Pick 4, all-turf Pick 4, all-dirt Pick 4, Pick 5, and Super High 5 wagers have a 50-cent minimum, while superfectas have a 10-cent minimum.

Television and online coverage will be extensive. NBC will broadcast over 10 hours of live racing, with the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic anchoring a 3 1/2-hour window on Saturday from 3:30–7 p.m. EDT, with an estimated post time of 6:25 p.m. EDT for race 9. Full coverage will also be available for livestreaming on Peacock, ensuring all 14 Breeders’ Cup races are accessible. FanDuel TV will complement this with live coverage of all Breeders’ Cup and undercard races via the Breeders’ Cup Players’ Show.

The meticulous planning of the Breeders' Cup wagering menu highlights the organizers' commitment to delivering a world-class horse racing experience. By offering a diverse range of betting options, from straightforward win/place/show bets to complex multi-race wagers, the event caters to both seasoned bettors and casual fans.
